# What lives in content and why it matters

Ghost keeps images, themes, settings and, on a SQLite install, the database itself under `content/`. Copy the application and leave that behind and you have moved a shell.

The theme is a directory. The images are files with dated paths. The database is one file. All three travel together or none of them should.
